Tucked away in our lush garden is our private skate bowl, a rare gem in the South West and the heart of our outdoor space. Whether you’re a seasoned skater working on your lines or a surfer looking to practice your surf-skate flow between sessions, it’s the ultimate spot to hang out and progress.

When it's time to slow down, our garden becomes a sanctuary for recovery. We’ve created a dedicated outdoor yoga area, fully stocked with all the yoga equipment you need to stretch out after a long day in the Atlantic. It’s your space to breathe, reset, and stay flexible for the next swell the perfect balance of surf, skate, and wellness in one place.

The Social Heart of the House

When the sun goes down or you just need a break from the salt, the indoor lounge is where Shifting Sands comes together. Designed as a cozy refuge, the room is centered around our classic billiards table the perfect excuse for a friendly game with the crew or a quiet beer while the music plays.

For those rainy days or chilled evenings, our large cinema screen becomes the focal point. Whether we’re getting inspired by the latest surf movies or gathering the whole house to watch live sports and world-tour contests, it’s the ultimate communal experience.

If the ocean sparks your creativity, our dedicated art corner is fully stocked with supplies for sketching, painting, or journaling. Whether you’re cheering for your favorite team on the big screen, perfecting your trick shot, or starting a new art project, the house is built for those effortless social moments that make a trip truly memorable.

EXPLORATION

While the waves are our main draw, the surrounding Landes region is an outdoor paradise waiting to be explored. Just a short trip from the house, the Lake of Hossegor offers a beautiful, calm alternative to the Atlantic swells.

We have Stand-Up Paddles (SUP) available right here at Shifting Sands, so you can easily head out for a peaceful glide across the saltwater lake. It’s the perfect way to spend a high-tide afternoon, paddling past iconic villas and local oyster farms.

If you prefer two wheels, grab a bike and disappear into the endless scenic forest trails that wind through the pines. The local area is alive with culture – from the vibrant Hossegor night markets to a sunset "Apéro" at a hidden beach bistro. Whether you’re on a paddle-board or exploring a secret forest path, we’ll always point you toward our favorite hidden gems.
